“The marquetry design represents the leaves of the Ginkgo Biloba tree.
A rare Asian tree (ginkyo: 銀杏), considered almost a living fossil, as
one of the oldest species of plants that still exist (270 million years old),
of extreme beauty and a history of inspiring resilience.
Ginkgo Biloba is a symbol of peace and longevity.
It survived atomic bombs in Japan and its resistance goes far beyond.
It withstood glacial periods, pests, and adverse environmental
elements that eliminated other species. Its fame caused it to be studied extensivelyand,
consequently, it was discovered that the leaves have extensive medicinal uses.”

The marquetry is made with Freijó, Sucupira and Italian oak, with inlaid filaments of gold metal. The screen consists of 3 panels interconnected by hinges entirely made from wood.
